Wolfestone Founder, Roy Allkin, has confirmed to the Association of Translation Companies that he will be stepping down from the Chairmanship at the forthcoming Language Industry Summit, to step up at the EUATC.

In an open letter to the ATC, Mr. Allkin said:
“My time as ATC Chair is drawing to a close. I’ll be stepping down at the upcoming AGM, which coincides with our Summit in Cardiff, packed with speakers and delegates making a difference and making a business case for LSPs in a changing landscape.”

Raising Standards

Chair of the ATC since 2009, Allkin has utilised his industry insights as Director of Wolfestone Group  – which encompasses translation agency Wolfestone; voice over and subtitling specialists, VoiceBox; and language learning experts, Robertson Languages International – to play a pivotal role in helping to raise the standards of the industry and promote the highest degree of professionalism.

Allkin stepping down will be made official at the upcoming ATC Language Industry Summit, at which hundreds of translation professionals come together to discuss any developments and insights in the world of translation.

Allkin confirmed that he would be replaced as Chair by Ruth Partington, and that the ATC would be gaining a new CEO in Raisa McNab. He will, however, continue to sit on the ATC National Council and will now step up to represent the UK at the EUATC.

In his letter to the ATC he wrote:
“The ATC will have a new Chair, a Council brimming with new ideas, a new direction.”

He continues:
“I’m absolutely delighted to also let you know that Raisa McNab will be taking on the role of Chief Executive at the ATC in October, steering the association together with the Council, Chair and Secretariat.”

“Raisa, you will be at the helm of a prestigious, established association, defining standards of excellence, promoting our industry and creating value to our members. Serve them well!”
