Wolfestone Group Acquires City Lingual
November 12, 2019
Wolfestone Group, the award-winning international language service provider with headquarters in Swansea, South Wales, today formally announces its acquisition of the well-established, London-based language training company
City Lingual. With the recent opening of offices in Bucharest and London, City Lingual adds another major presence for the Group. This acquisition means Wolfestone Group expands its portfolio to include four companies:
Wolfestone Translation,
VoiceBox,
RLI and
City Lingual, cementing the Group’s position as an industry-leading, full service provider of professional language solutions. The deal is set to broaden Wolfestone Group’s service offerings, which encompass: translation and localisation services, live captioning, multilingual voice overs and subtitling, global language training, and now London-based in-company language clubs for the financial sector.
City Lingual
, formerly known as The Language Crew, has operated as a boutique supplier of high-quality business language training for over 10 years and boasts an extensive range of bespoke language-learning solutions, including in-company language clubs and training to some of the largest financial institutions in London. What’s more, the addition of City Lingual to the Group’s portfolio is set to complement RLI’s
30 years of expertise in delivering cutting-edge English and foreign language training. Over the last 2 years, RLI has been implementing new and innovative language-teaching methods based on the latest cognitive science.
Anna Bastek, the
founder of Wolfestone Group, commented on the female-led acquisition:
“Acquiring City Lingual is a great step forward for the group. It’s a testimony to our vision that if you put the customer first and keep investing in the business, there are no limits to growth.
“We have very ambitious plans for the future. The language and multimedia industries continue to grow, and new opportunities are always arising. We will soon be deploying new AI technology which is set to save on time and costs for our clients. We are on target for £7.5m turnover this year and we are not stopping there.”
Alex-Michelle Parr,
Managing Director of Wolfestone Group, added:
“Wolfestone Group’s acquisition of City Lingual represents a great addition to the Group, which will further establish our presence in London and offer a foundation to provide in-company language clubs worldwide.
“Co-founders Margherita Baldisserri and Sara Ceccarelli have built an engaging brand and, with Wolfestone Group’s global network of language teachers on board, City Lingual is set to expand rapidly over the coming months.” The acquisition was supported by
JCP Solicitors, who completed the legal work over the Christmas period. Wolfestone Group are extremely grateful for their support in a time when most businesses were operating on reduced hours.
Rhianydd Llewellyn, Associate Solicitor in Corporate Commercial at JCP Solicitors, said:
“We were pleased to offer our legal service to Wolfestone Group during the course of this strategic transaction. We were delighted to have stepped up during the busy Christmas period, to help conclude this transaction in record time.
“Like JCP, Wolfestone Group is a successful indigenous Welsh firm, ambitious for carefully-managed growth, and we are delighted to see it prosper. We look forward to watching Wolfestone Group’s continued progress and working with this forward-thinking company again in the future.”
